The City of Seattle is getting serious about reducing car traffic. The One Less Car Challenge encourages citizens to leave a vehicle at home, and offers some pretty hip incentives in return.
Save money, be part of the transportation solution and reduce stress! Help our City reduce one million miles of car trips!
The One Less Car Challenge gives you a taste of living with one less car. There are two ways to participate in the One Less Car Challenge. In Level 1 you’ll go on a “car diet” for a month by not driving one of your cars, or your only car. You may prove to yourself that you don’t need that car after all! If you sell your extra car or your only car you’ll get even bigger incentives through Level 2, and save yourself thousands of dollars a year!
The coolest part of this initiative – it’s created, funded, and promoted by Seattle’s city administration. Carectomies are becoming government policy! Seattle’s city website also offers tips for regional Carfree Getaways.

Ridiculous articles like the Hummer H8 and this one (especially considering this past carectomy feature: http://www.carectomy.com/index.php/Bikes/Bikes-with-Thumping-Beats) make this my last visit to this site. I love bikes and hate SUVs like everyone else here, but articles like these belong on page 4 of a middle school newspaper.
@maui-dave: You can’t tell the difference between serious articles and tongue in cheek satire? This one is supposed to give you a laugh,
