London Talks About a “Velorution”

If you’re planning a trip to London, renting a bike is now as requisite a part of your tour as seeing Big Ben or sipping Earl Grey. With Velorution, a new London bike shop, seeing the city by folding commuter bike is now as natural as ordering bangers and mash.

Simply book online via the company’s web site. Velorution will deliver to your hotel, and pick up the bike with the concierge when you’re done wheeling around town.

The shop offers special services to travelers who want to see London on their own terms—and on two wheels. For £10 a day, Velorution even includes rain-slicking jackets and pants in the event of inclement weather (which is frequent in foggy London).

Velorution offers slick models like the Pashley Princess, the Hawk Roadster, and Retrovelo, and, for commuter bike rentals, charges £10 for a half day, £20 for the first 24 hours (£15 daily thereafter), and £70 for a full week. (You can’t rent a car for that cheap.) When necessary, fold ‘er up and carry your bike aboard a double-decker bus.
