Boots Made for Walkin’: Powerisers Pick Up Speed Print E-mail

If you’re harboring fantasies of becoming a car-free superhero, some Powerisers might help you look the part—and pick up speed. Slip into a pair of Powerisers (also called “Power Skips”) and run, jump, and flip faster than your shoes can take you. Powerisers act like pogo sticks, so you can pounce on pavement and propel yourself forward without strenuous effort. They’re ideal for car-free commuters who are too impatient—or hurried—for a casual stroll.

Even if the Powerisers do make you look like a mechanized praying mantis, they’ll get you from one point to another faster than power walking. They can’t keep apace with cars (unless, of course, they’re slowed in traffic), but the web site http://www.powerizeronline.com/ does say that you’ll be running at “lightning speed.” Just be careful not to mow down other peds as you’re flying down the sidewalk with superhuman hustle.

These are headed for the landfill. In the meantime, they definitely should not be allowed on pedestrian-only spaces.

Should You Get a Carectomy?

Cars are the most inconvenient convenience we have. We're required to have them, but increasingly, we dislike them. At Carectomy, we're trying to figure out how to extract cars from people.

The operation is a little bit painful, but life afterward is much more awesome. If you're interested in carectomies, sign up to our newsletter, or subscribe our RSS feed below.
