Praying at the Pump: God, Deliver Us from Gas Prices Print E-mail

Will God save America from this fuel crisis? Choir directory Rocky Twyman thinks so. Twyman has been organizing "pray-ins" at gas stations nationwide to ask that the good Lord lower gas prices, which are now at an unholy high of $4 per gallon.

"God is the only one we can turn to at this point," Twyman told the San Francisco Chronicle. "Our leaders don't seem to be able to do anything about it. The prices keep soaring and soaring."

Apart from praying for lower gas prices, Twyman is also encouraging people to change their habits. "People have to walk more, leave those cars at home, and carpool, man," he said. "We have to become more practical." (To this point, Carectomy gives a resounding Amen.)

Last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) asked President Bush to stop filling the strategic oil reserve and summoned the Federal Trade Commission to investigate manipulation of the oil market.

Meanwhile, Twyman wrings his hands, pleading for a miracle.

"God, deliver us from these high gas prices," Twyman said. "That's all they have to say."

I'm a Christian that believes that we have gone over board with the automobile, to serve our selfish desires and use it to much. Because the Auto in its current form is detrimental to the environment we won't see any Godly intervention to save its current form. Again it goes back to, you reap what you sow. Galatians 5:7-10

Should You Get a Carectomy?

Cars are the most inconvenient convenience we have. We're required to have them, but increasingly, we dislike them. At Carectomy, we're trying to figure out how to extract cars from people.

The operation is a little bit painful, but life afterward is much more awesome. If you're interested in carectomies, sign up to our newsletter, or subscribe our RSS feed below.
