The most recent issue of Bicycling Magazine listed San Jose as a “runner-up” in Best Cities to Bicycle. As a long-time bike commuter, this is not my experience. While San Jose is putting in more trails to support cycling, cyclists are still considered second class citizens and in most areas, you bike on the streets at your own risk. San Jose has a LONG way to go to be cycling friendly.

Not only do I live and work in San Jose, but I bicycle commute as often as I can. Clearly, San Jose only gives lip service to people and bicycles.
