CruzinCooler Drinking and [Not] Driving: Snap Open a Cold One, Sans Carbon Emissions
If you’re trying to go car-free but can’t give up on cold beer, a new invention might help you quit cold turkey (cars, that is). A new hybrid model lets you drive, then drink (at your destination, of course) while reducing your carbon emissions. Fall off the wagon with the Cruzin Cooler, a plug-in electric "vehicle" that travels up to 13 mph for as many as 15 miles—enough to get you down the street to the neighbor’s, or the nearest frat house. The cooler is also a hybrid of sorts – run out of juice and it’s foot power to the rescue. Sounds…refreshing.

From the manufacturer:

"These units are designed for the operation with only one passenger not weighting more than 200 pounds and at least 18 years of age. These coolers are designed to be used on flat level paved surfaces only, grades may make the cooler run at excessive speeds downhill."

Here’s a video of seemingly enlightened, uber-classy cooler racers. (Hey, at least they’re wearing helmets.):
